Jacobs is actively seeking a talented Airfield Electrical Engineer to add to our Aviation team. Aviation projects are primarily airport-related, including but not limited to aviation related facilities including roadway systems, access control, and the design and construction of aviation infrastructure. The selected candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities, the ability to work as a team member or independently, and the desire to learn new skills and areas of expertise. In this role you'll:
Participate in planning, design, and construction of airfield lighting and navigational aid projects
Perform electrical related design tasks or projects in support of project and design managers
Typical projects require preparation of bidding documents (plans & specifications) including lighting layout, power distribution, lighting controls, electrical facilities, airfield navigational aids, signage, coordination with other disciplines, quantity takeoffs, design reports, cost estimates, and construction scheduling
Perform, assist or oversee construction-related tasks including on-site construction observation and project engineering LI-JM5

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing
Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork
Minimum 5 years of aviation electrical engineering experience with demonstrated technical design of airfield ground lighting, navigational aids, lighting controls, and electrical infrastructure projects including electrical design engineering reports and specifications.
Understanding and implementation of FAA Advisory Circulars and UFC criteria
Construction support, including review of RFIs and material submittals. Preparation of RFQs, field orders, and change orders. Field observation/site visits will be required as needed.
Demonstrated skill and a working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D
Experience in Microsoft Office
Licensed Professional Engineer
Experience performing voltage drop, available fault current, and arc-flash calculations is a plus.
