Job Description

Job Title I&E Technician V Compensation $82.44/hr (1099 rate) Location Kuparuk, AK Schedule 14 Days On / 14 Days Off Scope / Overview ConocoPhillips Alaska is seeking an experienced I&E Technician V to support operations at the Kuparuk Field on Alaska's North Slope. This position works a 14/14 rotational schedule and serves in a journeyman-level electrical maintenance role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and commissioning critical electrical and instrumentation systems supporting oil and gas production facilities. The successful candidate will work independently in a remote Arctic environment while supporting safe, reliable operation of power generation, distribution, fire and gas systems, motor controls, switchgear, protective relays, and facility electrical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility equipment. Execute preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
Maintain and troubleshoot:
Industrial generators Motors Switchgear Protective relays Fire & gas detection systems Fire suppression systems UPS systems Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) Heat tracing systems Install new electrical equipment and cable systems in hazardous/classified areas. Perform functional checkout and commissioning of new equipment and facilities. Utilize electrical testing and calibration equipment. Follow all safe work practices and PPE requirements. Execute work within approved engineering standards and Management of Change (MOC) procedures. Independently plan work activities, job steps, and material requirements based on operational priorities. Required Qualifications Critical Requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States. Current Alaska Journeyman Electrician License. Current valid driver's license. Minimum 5 years of journeyman electrician experience in an industrial environment. Ability to work and live at a remote Arctic location. Ability to perform physically demanding work including climbing, lifting, carrying, bending, and working outdoors in severe weather conditions. Ability to work a 14/14 rotational schedule. Technical Requirements Industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience. Experience working on power distribution and electrical equipment. Strong commitment to HSE and Zero Incident performance. Preferred Qualifications NICET Level II Fire Alarm Systems Certification. Alaska Fire Alarm Permit Level 1B. Associate Degree, Technical Degree, or equivalent electrical training. 5+ years oil & gas industry experience. Arctic/North Slope experience.

Large synchronous generators and controls Induction and synchronous motors 480V, 5KV, 15KV, and 35KV systems Protective relays (solid-state, electromechanical, microprocessor-based) Fire and gas detection systems Halon, FE13, and Fine Water Mist suppression systems SAP maintenance management experience.
