Electrical Engineer Job Description Join our innovative team as an Electrical Engineer where you will design, prototype, test, and verify the performance of complex systems and electronic modules for munitions and energetics-related systems. Utilize your systems, hardware, and software expertise to design new products and enhance existing systems and components. You will perform analyses and trade studies, providing technical input to support system and module design and enhancement. Your role will involve evaluating and recommending options and alternatives for system and module-level components, exercising good judgment, and utilizing best practices to achieve goals. Responsibilities Design electronic circuits, including digital, analog, and power distribution. Create schematics and PCB layouts using appropriate CAD software. Design electrical interfaces and cabling. Lead, perform, and support electrical system integration, test, and analysis. Mentor junior team member. Provide original design inputs for electrical engineering projects. Participate in technical discussions to develop product ideas and resolve problems. Conduct technical research to explore alternate approaches to problems and technical issues. Support investigations and engineering evaluations of complex projects and products. Evaluate vendor capabilities, products, and services for required performance levels. Facilitate and implement design ideas to improve existing products. Interact with customers, vendors, engineers, production personnel, and program management to complete projects. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams for detailed, module, and system-level designs. Prepare requirements documents and detailed specifications, allocating requirements to systems and components. Work with teams to research, design, and develop new and complex systems and architectures. Analyze, improve, and originate approaches and techniques for rapid prototyping, development, testing, and full-scale production. Essential Skills Electrical engineering expertise with 7+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in CAD software for schematic and PCB layout design. Experience in electrical design, circuit design, and hardware design. Knowledge of EMI and EMC considerations. Experience with warhead design and development. Hands-on product development experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering Science. Ability to wear multiple hats, from napkin design to building concepts. Soldering, cable building, and circuit construction skills. Eligibility for a security clearance; active clearance is a plus. Work Environment The office is located in Downtown Huntsville, featuring a cubicle environment with collaborative whiteboard spaces for team discussions. The role involves significant computer work and may require travel to the test range in Jasper on some weeks.
