HGA is seeking anInstrument & Electrical Field Engineer to support construction projects and ongoing operations in Casa Grande, AZby managing instrument, electrical, and automation systems. This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant installation, commissioning, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical and control infrastructure in an industrial manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Review and validate Basic Engineering Design Data (BEDD), including instrument data sheets, load lists, and vendor documentation. Support procurement of instrument and electrical equipment, including vendor inquiries, TBEs, CBEs, technical clarifications, and recommendations. Coordinate with engineering design firms to develop and review drawings (single-line diagrams, layouts, cable schedules, I/O lists). Maintain drawing and document version control throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor vendor fabrication progress and coordinate equipment delivery, storage, and turnover. Perform field inspections, testing, and verification (grounding, insulation resistance, loop checks, and settings). Support DCS/PLC programming, start-up, and commissioning activities. Lead and coordinate technicians and contractors; interface with cross-functional engineering disciplines. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain electrical, instrument, and automation systems. Lead daily work execution, assign work orders, and support on-call response to production issues. Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans for critical equipment to support Mechanical Integrity. Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and system faults. Update equipment documentation, work instructions, and maintenance records. Support safety activities including Job Safety Analyses (JSA), audits, and regulatory compliance. Complete required SAP documentation and reporting. Coordinate vendors for equipment purchases, services, and technical support. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. 3-5 years of experience in electrical/instrument engineering within industrial manufacturing or chemical processing. Working knowledge of:
Medium- and low-voltage electrical systems (12.47kV, 480V) Motors, MCCs, transformers, generators, UPS, DC systems Industrial instrumentation (flow, level, pressure, temperature, analytical) DCS and/or PLC systems Strong understanding of electrical safety and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently, lead technicians, and respond to off-shift and on-call needs. Preferred Qualifications Automation or control system programming experience. Experience supervising technicians or contractors. Physical & Work Environment Requires standing, walking, climbing, lifting (up to 15 lbs), and working at heights or in confined spaces. Exposure to industrial hazards, outdoor conditions, and construction environments. PPE and respirator use required; must pass applicable medical evaluations.
