This is a seller-doer leadership role that combines technical project delivery with business development, client relationship management, and team development responsibilities. A Professional Engineer license and a background in consulting engineering are strongly preferred. Schedule Full-time, based primarily out of the Phoenix, Arizona office with flexibility across the Mesa and Scottsdale locations. Limited hybrid scheduling may be available depending on project requirements.
Compensation:
$160,000 - $200,000 Per Year What You'll Do You will lead electrical and MEP engineering project delivery across commercial, institutional, and mixed-use developments throughout the Phoenix region. Your responsibilities span the full project lifecycle, from pursuit and proposal development through design, construction administration, and closeout. You will manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and profitability across your active portfolio, and will coordinate multidisciplinary work with architects, mechanical engineers, and plumbing teams throughout the design and delivery process. Business development is a core part of this role, not a secondary function. You will identify and pursue new project opportunities, develop and present proposals, and build and maintain long-term client relationships that generate recurring work for the practice. You will work to expand the firm's market presence in the Phoenix area and contribute to broader regional growth initiatives. Leading and developing the engineering team is equally central to the position. You will mentor and guide engineering staff at multiple levels, support their technical development, and contribute to building a sustainable and profitable consulting practice over time. You will also play a role in shaping operational and strategic decisions within the MEP division. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 15 or more years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting environment Demonstrated experience leading MEP electrical engineering projects from pursuit through completion Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards Proven track record in business development, proposal development, and client relationship management in a consulting engineering context Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably and lead engineering teams Experience mentoring and developing technical staff Strong communication and presentation skills across technical and executive audiences Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license, active in Arizona or eligible for reciprocity Experience with commercial, institutional, or mixed-use MEP building systems Healthcare facility project experience Existing client relationships or business development pipeline in the Phoenix, Mesa, or Scottsdale market Experience contributing to practice growth or office expansion in a consulting firm Compensation and Benefits Base compensation commensurate with experience Performance-based bonus, uncapped Profit-sharing program Strong employer retirement contributions Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Professional development and PE licensure support To apply, submit your resume along with a brief description of your MEP consulting engineering experience, your business development background, and your PE licensure status.
