Job Title:
Staff Electrical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dynamic Staff Electrical Engineer to join our BMS Hardware & Electrical System team. You will play a crucial role in the development and validation of innovative battery technology. This position involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of PCBA design, collaborating with various teams to ensure the delivery of safe and compliant PCBAs. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced company with groundbreaking technology. Responsibilities Manage the full lifecycle of PCBA design, including requirements generation, component selection, schematic and layout development, design release through vendor DFM, bring up, and verification. Ensure that PCBA designs adhere to safety, reliability, and compliance standards for high-power and hazardous systems. Create requirements, DFMEA/CFMEA, electrical block diagrams, simulations, analyses, schematics, layouts, bring-up/test plans, and 8 Discipline (8D) reports. Collaborate cross-functionally with System Engineering, Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical, Firmware/Software, and Test/Verification teams to define, design, test PCBAs, and resolve Electrical System related issues. Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of released PCBA designs. Document design concepts, architecture, block diagrams, bring-up/test results, root cause investigations, and decision-making processes. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience; a master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience is also acceptable. Proficiency in PCBA design ECAD software such as Altium or equivalent. Hands-on experience with sensors, power electronics (high voltage, high power, AC, SMPS, LDO), processing (MCU, MPU, SOM), networking (Ethernet, CAN-FD, isoSPI), onboard communication (SPI, UART, I2C, JTAG), data acquisition (IO, ADC, DAC), and control systems (gate drivers, motor drivers, HSD). Strong understanding of safety and compliance considerations in high-power and/or chemical environments. Experience designing PCBAs and Electrical Systems to

requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance speed, rigor, and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with software including PLM (e.g., Arena or Team Center), product development software (e.g., JIRA), and requirement management tools (e.g., JAMA). Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment This position is based onsite in Berkeley, CA. Work will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and innovative environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $110.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
