The tier of federal background investigation will be determined by job duties and national security or public trust responsibilities associated with the job. Position Overview:
- The Technology Innovation Directorate at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking a talented Staff Engineer to join our team and be responsible for designing, fabricating, assembling, and testing a variety of sensors to meet the needs of the Lab's mission.
- Your specific responsibilities include:
- + Design, fabrication, assembly and test of semiconductor sensors for x-ray and particle detection + Advancing detector state-of-the-art to enable the Lab¿s scientific mission + Coordination and collaboration with Sensors Dept.
Note:
- This is a 36-month fixed term position with the possibility of extension or conversion to regular continuing position contingent on project fundings.
- To be successful in this position you will bring:
- + Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, applied physics or related fields with 2 years of experience in semiconductor sensors, preferably for particle or x-ray detection + Working knowledge of design packages such as PISCES, Medici, TCAD, Cadence, LEdit, Layout Editor, or equivalent.

Fixed Term _The expected pay range for this position is $117,623 to $164,965 per annum. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
