Electrical Design Engineer

Job Title:

Electrical Design Engineer Job Description The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and documenting electrical and control systems for industrial facilities, with a strong focus on AutoCAD Electrical and code-compliant solutions. You will produce detailed electrical drawings and control documentation while supporting PLC-based control systems and industrial equipment. This position combines hands-on design work with close collaboration across engineering, field, and project teams in a supportive, family-oriented environment. Responsibilities Develop and modify AutoCAD Electrical drawing packages, including panel layouts, schematics, PLC I/O drawings, and network/communication layouts. Interpret and work from existing drawing packages, redlines, and field markups. Perform controls design support for PLC systems (Allen-Bradley primarily), VFDs, and motor control systems. Update and generate as-built documentation. Maintain drawing standards, including title blocks, layering, symbol libraries, and consistent formatting. Coordinate with internal engineering, estimating, and field teams.

Qualifications:

4-7 years experience with AutoCAD Electrical Experience with control panel design or layout Experience working with industrial control systems or conveyor systems Knowledge of OHSA standards and NEC codes Familiarity with UL508A panel design practices preferred Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rocklin, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
