Position Summary:
As a member of OpenLight's test engineering team, the candidate will work closely with a team of experienced engineers in designing, installing, maintaining, and programming automated test stations for silicon photonic reliability testing, photonic integrated circuit screening, and wafer-level testing. This is a hands-on position requiring hardware and software engineering skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optical and electrical device testing and experience in test automation in python. The position is onsite at our Goleta CA location.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead engineer to bring up and maintain silicon photonics reliability infrastructure and support ongoing photonic component reliability testing Software automation and equipment bring up and maintenance of infrared wafer inspection with AI image processing Designing, installing, and maintaining optical wafer-level test stations Work with reliability and characterization test equipment suppliers to define, verify, and debug new software features, and verifying the equipment operation Supervising technicians on test equipment installation and maintenance and facilities requirements Additional responsibilities Develop custom test hardware and automated test software for wafer and die testing on our proprietary test stations Write and debug the test automation scripts in python, implement and verify the analysis equations, and execute the tests on the designated test station Perform data analysis in Jmp or python, and communicate with internal and external customers on the test plans, results, and project status Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering with minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience Hands on experience in a physics or electrical engineering test lab or industry Programming experience in python Demonstrated experience in data acquisition systems and data analysis, and fitting test data to model equations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Initiative and ability to work independently and lead other test engineers Preferred Experience Experience with testing on wafer probers Experience with reliability test stations Experience in photonic and high-speed RF testing Hardware and mechanical design of PCBAs and test jigs Background in integrated optics Featured benefits Incentive Stock Options Medical, vision, and dental insurance Matching 401(k) Paid maternity and paternity leave Disability insurance
