Job Description

Aveox is an industry leader in Power Electronics for motor controllers, AC/DC converters and Specialized Electric Motors for critical applications. We design and produce low-weight/high-powered motor and controller solutions for a variety of Military, Aerospace and Industrial clients. We continually develop and apply innovative motion control technology to meet our clients ultra-critical, environmentally-challenging and high power-density requirements. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Manufacturing Engineer responsible for choosing the best technologies and processes for manufacturing, planning and designing the factory as well as managing the maintenance & continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. This candidate will have strong knowledge in manufacturing production processes, specifically creating and monitoring automated systems and new technology development. This individual leads the staff through the complete manufacturing development process for complex electromechanical solutions for aerospace and defense industries.
Responsibilities:
Selects the best technologies and processes for manufacturing, planning and designing the factory as well as managing the maintenance & continuous improvement of the manufacturing process Improves range of fabrication processes that can directly impact the sustaining and growth efforts of operations and participate in the introduction of new products to the manufacturing and supply chain environment Provides significant expertise in developing a range of engineering solutions to improve current and future manufacturability of new and existing products Creates and manages equipment specifications, equipment documentation for development, qualification and support of assembly and test equipment for production Generates new and reviews existing work instructions, assembly procedures and supporting documentation controlling the manufacturing process Prepares cost estimates of new tooling and fixtures required to support production floor Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and apply Six Sigma methodology to achieve continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and lead time Generate Value Stream Maps to reduce cycle time, waste, variation, and low production yields Performs Design for Manufacturing, cost, and reliability analysis on new products with the design engineering team Supports AS9100, Lean and other Quality initiatives/objectives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and/or combination of education or experience. Specific experience with Power Electronics, Power Conversion and Electric Motors is recommended. Experience with electro-mechanical manufacturing, drawings, procedures and Bill of Materials is required Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving Ability to explain a range of complex technical information Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement Familiarity with Electro-mechanical products and GD&T Excellent time management, project management, planning and organizational skills Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects of varying size and scope Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express technical concepts clearly and concisely.
