Electrical Engineer II#26-16325 $1 per hour Sunnyvale, CA All On-site Job Description Our client, is a Internet Content & Information company, is looking for a Electrical Engineer II for their Sunnyvale, CA location.
Responsibilities:
Perform engineering-level failure analysis of Reality Labs Devices. Own the end-to-end failure analysis process - from failure replication at the system level to failure isolation at the module and component level. Investigate components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes to find the root causes of various product failures. Identify and drive closure to hardware design risks, assembly escapes, poor module quality, as well as software/firmware issues affecting product performance and reliability. Generate necessary test scenarios and collect data needed to isolate failure modes. Collaborate with relevant internal (mechanical, electrical, quality, software engineering teams) and external (vendors) stakeholders. Provide inputs to the design and process teams to improve design quality and production yield. This can be completed through lessons learned and developmental systems tear-downs to identify risk factors. Participate in the execution of failure analysis for any possible field safety escalations. Utilize various diagnostic equipment to characterize failures (power supply, oscilloscope, audio tester, thermal camera, microscope). Organize and manage lab space including testing areas, assembly areas, and other project workspaces. Manage and report progress of devices under triage.
Requirements:
BS in Engineering and some experience in failure analysis and/or product engineering. Knowledge of debugging hardware failures and identifying root cause in consumer electronics, aerospace, automotive, or medical devices products. Experience using various failure analysis techniques and equipment. Debugging skills at both system, board, and component level are critical. High attention to detail, hands-on, and self-motivated. Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance. Familiar When customers purchase Client hardware, this team serves as the first line of defense when devices are returned. They carefully listen to customer feedback, whether spoken or written in complaints, and design tests to determine what went wrong and why. The team then provides this information back to the engineering team to drive improvements. These contingent workers (CWs) will be responsible for handling these investigations, using all necessary tools to identify the root cause of issues. They take ownership of the problem, analyze it thoroughly, and report on the cause as well as recommend the next steps to resolve it. The team collaborates closely with customer support, leadership, legal, safety, and engineering teams to ensure comprehensive resolution and continuous product quality enhancement. During the launch period (September to January), participate in daily meetings and report on findings from the previous day. Respond to technical questions as they arise. After the launch period, attend weekly or monthly meetings to review ongoing progress. Analyze and work on findings from returned products to identify issues and recommend solutions with diagnostic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and other standard lab equipment (microscope, hand soldering tools). Experience with articulating engineering solutions to both technical and non-technical cross-functional teams. Experience with data analysis and reporting. Experience with high-volume consumer electronics products. Quality and accuracy of reports. Timeliness of report delivery and completion of projects. Ability to work proactively and independently with minimal supervision. Troubleshooting skills Experience with previous companies in consumer electronic repairs, Failure analysis Combo or variety of skills Electrical Mechanical etc Years of overall experience required: 2+ years Degrees/certifications required: BS in Engineering and some experience in failure analysis and/or product engineering.
