Electrical Maintenance Technician 4 Sparks Group - 4.0 Washington, DC Job Details $50 - $65 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid parental leave Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Vendor relationship building High school diploma or GED Full Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician IV to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of mission-critical facility infrastructure in a secure environment. This role is responsible for maintaining electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems to ensure maximum uptime and operational performance. The technician will serve as a senior technical resource, overseeing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex systems, coordinating vendors, and supporting junior staff while helping maintain stringent reliability standards for critical infrastructure. Must have 8+ years' experience, Journeyman license and either have or be able to obtain and maintain HSPD-12 credentials and Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems supporting critical operations. Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, transfer switches, DC systems, BAS controls, and HVAC-related electrical infrastructure. Diagnose, repair, and modify malfunctioning electrical and electronic equipment, including advanced circuitry and control systems. Conduct facility inspections and monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, power quality, and alarm systems to identify trends or operational issues. Operate and adjust Building Automation Systems (BAS) in accordance with site procedures, MOPs, and SOPs. Utilize CMMS systems to document maintenance activities, repairs, and operational updates. Coordinate and oversee contractors and third-party vendors during maintenance, repair, and emergency response activities. Develop, review, and update Method of Procedure (MOP) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation to align with current best practices and safety standards. Use specialized diagnostic tools such as infrared scanners, vibration analyzers, power quality analyzers, and related test equipment. Support emergency response involving critical systems such as HVAC, generators, UPS, power distribution, and fire/life safety systems. Identify material and equipment needs, develop repair estimates, and assist with procurement planning. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to support operational continuity. Produce maintenance reports, reliability assessments, and performance recommendations aimed at improving system resilience and minimizing downtime. Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and training to junior technicians and team members. Promote and enforce workplace safety practices including lockout/tagout, SDS compliance, and housekeeping standards. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 8+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, critical facilities, industrial systems, or data center environments State Certified Journeyman License or VMET Certification required Strong understanding of electrical systems, HVAC integration, power distribution, and critical environment operations Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and CMMS platforms Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to interpret technical manuals, manufacturer guidelines, and system schematics Proven commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining accountability in high-performance environments Physical Requirements Frequently lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 pounds Relocate ladders up to 12 feet without assistance Work at heights up to 60 feet using ladders, scaffolding, catwalks, and aerial lifts Perform repetitive physical tasks including walking, climbing, kneeling, crawling, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling Maintain visual acuity, including color recognition, and hearing ability necessary for safe operations Safely use ladders and tools while adhering to weight and safety limitations Benefits Overview Competitive compensation package Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage Paid time off 401(k) retirement savings plan Tuition reimbursement Military reserve pay support Paid parental leave - This job is In-Person.
Pay Range:
