Job Title:
Electrical Engineer Job Description This position focuses on integrating electrical, mechanical, sensing, firmware, and software subsystems to develop a mission-critical capability. It is not IT-based but requires a comprehensive understanding of various engineering disciplines to achieve successful system integration. Responsibilities Attend multidisciplinary meetings to develop key performance requirements for electrical, mechanical, sensing, and decision-making subsystems. Translate complex subsystem information into concise metrics supportable through testing and analysis methodologies. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system design specifications, integration plans, and testing procedures. Generate system engineering documentation using tools such as Enterprise Architect and Rational Software Architect. Design and develop integrated systems that meet military specifications and requirements. Create detailed system architectures ensuring all subsystems work together seamlessly. Develop and oversee the integration of various subsystems, including hardware, electrical signals, and software components. Design and direct testing to ensure the integrated system meets performance and functionality standards. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, component suppliers, project managers, and software developers. Identify and resolve integration issues that arise during the development and testing phases. Analyze system performance, diagnose problems, and design tests and subtests to validate prior to full-scale integration. Ensure that all systems and subsystems comply with relevant military standards and regulations. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, systems engineering, or a related field. 4-8 years of experience in electrical engineering, electrical design, and systems integration. Proficiency in C or Python. Experience with embedded systems. Extensive experience with systems architecture development, documentation, and assessment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Highly motivated and able to work on a small, dynamic team. Experience with systems architecture development, documentation, and assessment. Work Environment The role supports major DoD programs in the development of CUAS systems. You will work with an experienced team of engineers to apply systems engineering principles to design, analyze, develop, test, and debug components and systems. Tasks include developing systems architectures related to complex system design and integrated operational platforms, researching and ensuring the implementation of military standards for subsystem interfaces, and participating in advanced government test events Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fulton, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
