Senior Electrical Engineer

Senior Electrical Engineer A well-established OEM manufacturer of packaging machinery is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to serve as a technical leader for electrical design and controls within a capital equipment environment. This role is not suited for plant engineers, end users, or service-only backgrounds. The team is looking for an engineer who has designed OEM packaging machinery hardware and controls systems, understands electrical codes, and can clearly explain and defend design decisions at a whiteboard level. What You'll Be Doing Lead electrical and controls design for complex packaging machinery Design electrical hardware architectures, not just PLC code Develop and review control systems using: ControlLogix, Kinetix 5500/5700, and PanelView HMIs Specify components, panels, wiring, and electrical standards Perform root cause analysis and drive design improvements Support machine builds, testing, and field troubleshooting Collaborate closely with mechanical engineering and manufacturing Serve as a technical reference for engineering leadership and service teams What They're Looking For 5+ years of OEM machinery electrical engineering experience Experience with ControlLogix, Kinetix and PanelView Strong understanding of industrial electrical codes and standards Ability to design full electrical systems and hardware layouts Comfort presenting and solving problems at a whiteboard level Experience with motion systems and servos Exposure to linear track systems (Rockwell iTRAK, B&R, Beckhoff preferred) Why This Role Senior technical authority role True OEM, machine-builder environment Complex, high-speed packaging machinery Strong engineering culture with long-term product lines H1
