ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, PROPELLANT GENERATION
(STARSHIP) As a member of the Starship Launch Engineering team, you will focus on the electrical design and field support for propellant generation systems that enable rapid, high-volume production of liquid oxygen and methane. You will work with a group of elite engineers across multiple disciplines to design, install, and activate air separation plants (ASUs), liquefaction equipment, and gas turbine-based power generation infrastructure required to support Starship orbital launch capability. This position is based at Cape Canaveral, FL.RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead electrical design for air separation plants, liquefaction systems, and gas turbine power generation plants Work directly with internal and external customers to determine electrical requirements/needs and wants. Assist in the development of drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial type projects. Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out. Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time. Coordinate with the electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure. Provide support and direction to electricians and technicians during the construction and activation of power distribution equipment. Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline. 1+ years of experience in the design or build of building infrastructure electrical systems.PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Primary experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac). Understanding of medium voltage system design and construction. Working knowledge of switchgear, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, transformers, building lighting, building construction specifications, and facility grounding. Experience with critical power infrastructure including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches. Experience creating and implementing process/design solutions with minimal impact to business operations. Ability to perform Arc Flash, Coordination, and Power Studies. Experience designing for and building in classified environments. Able to quickly assess an issue and assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair. Ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment, under possible extended work hours and tight deadlines. Acute attention to detail, ability to see interactions with other systems to avoid problems. Familiarity with National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Association and International Building Code.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral. Perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights. Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Remain focused while working in hazardous environments, while wearing appropriate PPE. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs unassisted.ITAR REQUIREMENTS
