Hollywood, Florida Position Overview The Electrical Engineer (P.E.) at Keller Architecture is responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems for architectural building projects across Florida. This role focuses on producing safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical designs that integrate seamlessly with architectural and other building systems. Working within a collaborative, design-led environment, the Electrical Engineer supports projects from early concept through construction, ensuring technical excellence, constructability, and compliance with Florida regulations. As part of the Mosaic Holding Corporation (MHC) ecosystem, the role also contributes to shared knowledge, innovation, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Key Responsibilities 1. Electrical Design and Technical Execution Design and engineer electrical systems for buildings, including: Power distribution and lighting systems Emergency and standby power systems Grounding and bonding Low-voltage and life-safety systems (fire alarm, data, communications) Prepare, review, and seal electrical calculations, drawings, and specifications. Ensure designs comply with the Florida Building Code (FBC), NEC, NFPA standards, and local AHJ requirements. Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing designs. 2. Project Coordination and Delivery Support projects through all phases, from conceptual design and permitting to construction administration. Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and utility providers. Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings and submittals, and perform construction-phase support. Assist with scope definition, schedules, and fee proposals from an electrical engineering perspective. 3. Quality Assurance and Code Compliance Maintain high standards of technical accuracy, documentation, and regulatory compliance. Participate in internal design reviews and quality control processes. Address plan review comments and support permitting approvals. Contribute to the development and improvement of electrical design standards and templates. 4. Collaboration and Team Contribution Work closely with Keller's architectural team in an integrated design environment. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers or designers as appropriate. Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings and design charrettes. Support a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence. 5. Client and Stakeholder Engagement Participate in client meetings and technical discussions as required. Provide clear and professional written and verbal communication. Support value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost-conscious design strategies. Coordinate with utility companies and regulatory agencies as needed. Qualifications and Experienc e Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida (required). Typically 7-15 years of experience in electrical engineering design for building projects.
Strong knowledge of:
NEC, NFPA, Florida Building Code Power distribution, lighting, and life-safety systems Experience with building types such as commercial, residential, mixed-use, or institutional projects. Proficiency with relevant software tools, such as: Revit / AutoCAD Electrical analysis and lighting calculation software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, AGi32, Visual Lighting) Understanding of sustainable design practices, energy efficiency, and modern building technologies. Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills. Desired Attributes Detail-oriented engineer with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and code compliance.
