Full-Time About the Opportunity A growing and innovative consulting engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join its Tampa team. This firm is known for delivering high-quality, technically sound designs across a range of sectors including commercial, aviation, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and government projects. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong technical foundation who is ready to take on more responsibility in project design, coordination, and client interaction while continuing to grow professionally. Key Responsibilities Design electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, emergency generation, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems Develop efficient system layouts, perform sizing calculations, and ensure compliance with applicable codes Create and coordinate BIM/Revit-based designs across all project phases Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout design and construction Perform construction administration duties , including site visits, submittal reviews, and punch lists Define and manage project scope to ensure alignment with contract documents and client expectations Maintain strong communication with clients, architects, contractors, and code officials Support and mentor junior designers and engineers Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience in consulting engineering Experience with commercial building projects (aviation, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, government, etc.) Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred At least 2 years of experience working on multidisciplinary project teams Proficiency in Revit MEP and familiarity with electrical design software Strong understanding of local, state, and national codes and standards Experience with various project delivery methods (design-build, design-bid-build, fast-track) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Additional Skills & Attributes Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail Experience preparing specifications and project documentation Solid technical judgment in evaluating system design options and cost efficiencies Organized, proactive, and accountable, with a strong team-oriented mindset Work Environment & Travel Ability to travel 10-35% for site visits and client meetings Combination of office-based work and occasional field exposure Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines What's Offered Competitive compensation and benefits package Hybrid work flexibility and flexible time off Generous paid holiday schedule and parental leave 401(k) with company match Professional development and education support Opportunity to work on high-impact, visible projects Why Join This firm offers a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where engineers are empowered to take ownership of their work, contribute meaningfully to projects, and advance their careers.
