Electrical Coordinator 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Dublin, GA 31040 From $120,000 a year - Full-time Young Management & Consulting 9 reviews From $120,000 a year - Full-time Young Management & Consulting (YMC) is seeking a highly experienced and field-driven Electrical Coordinator to support construction and commissioning activities across renewable energy and energy storage projects, including utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and grid interconnections. This role is responsible for coordinating daily electrical field operations, ensuring safety-first execution, and supporting project leadership in delivering high-quality work aligned with design specifications, utility standards, and regulatory requirements. The Electrical Coordinator acts as a critical liaison between project management, field crews, subcontractors, OEM vendors, and utility clients to ensure seamless execution of electrical scopes from construction through commissioning and energization. Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Construction Coordination Coordinate and oversee daily electrical construction activities across solar farms, BESS installations, substations, and interconnection facilities. Ensure all work is executed in accordance with Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, specifications, and utility/interconnection requirements.
Support installation and coordination of:
Medium- and high-voltage cable systems Inverters, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems SCADA, controls, and communications infrastructure Assist Construction Manager in directing electrical subcontractors and field personnel through all phases of construction. Monitor productivity, identify constraints, and drive execution to meet critical path milestones. Interface with utility representatives and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to ensure compliance and alignment. Renewables & Energy Storage Integration Support coordination of solar PV systems and battery energy storage systems (BESS) including DC/AC integration.Assist with installation oversight of:
PV arrays, combiner boxes, and inverter stations Battery racks, PCS (Power Conversion Systems), and EMS integration Ensure proper sequencing and coordination between civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes. Collaborate with OEM vendors for equipment installation, energization, and troubleshooting. Safety, Quality & Compliance Champion a zero-incident safety culture in alignment with YMC and client standards. Enforce compliance withOSHA, NFPA
70E, NEC, and site-specific safety protocols.Lead and participate in:
Job hazard analyses (JHAs) Daily job briefings and toolbox talks Safety walks and audits Verify all required permits, LOTO procedures, and switching plans are properly executed. Support QA/QC inspections and ensure deficiencies are tracked and resolved. Scheduling, Reporting & Logistics Assist in developing and maintaining look-ahead schedules and short-interval plans (SIPs). Track daily progress, manpower, and production rates for electrical scopes. Identify risks to schedule and proactively escalate issues with mitigation strategies. Coordinate delivery, staging, and installation sequencing of electrical equipment and materials.Maintain detailed documentation including:
Daily logs Field reports Redlines and as-builts Testing & Commissioning Support Coordinate with testing and commissioning teams for: Pre-functional and functional testing Relay protection testing SCADA and communication system validation Support energization activities including switching procedures and system turnover. Ensure all commissioning documentation, test reports, and punch lists are completed and closed. Qualifications Required 7+ years of experience in electrical construction within renewables, substations, transmission, or power generation. Proven experience supporting utility-scale solar and/or battery energy storage (BESS) projects.Strong knowledge of:
Medium- and high-voltage systems Electrical construction methods and sequencing Utility interconnection standards Working knowledge ofNEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA
regulations, and utility safety practices.Ability to read and interpret:
Electrical one-lines Schematics and wiring diagrams Protection and control drawings Strong communication and coordination skills across field and management teams. Willingness to travel and work on project sites as required. Valid driver's license. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Journeyman Electrician or Lineman certification. Experience with BESS platforms, inverter technologies, and renewable SCADA systems. Prior experience with grid interconnection, commissioning, and energization. OSHA 30 certification (or higher). Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, etc.).Pay:
