Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer for a 13-month contract opportunity in Mossville, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting structured risk assessments (including DFMEA) and ensuring compliance with industry safety standards for cutting-edge electrified products. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test electrical equipment, machinery controls, wiring, and lighting. Evaluate the cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety of electrical design models. Simulate and test machine, structure, and system operations to ensure peak performance. Conduct structured risk assessments, standards evaluations, and compliance reviews (DFMEA). Review battery, charger, and powertrain components in close collaboration with design and validation teams. Prepare comprehensive technical reports, engineering documentation, and project timeline/cost estimates. Monitor action items, track progress, and lead efficient product review meetings with clear deliverables.
Required Qualifications & Experience Education:
Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience. OR a Master s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
Note:
2-year degrees and internships do not count toward the professional experience requirement.
Technical Skills:
Proven experience with Risk Identification and Management (structured risk assessments/DFMEA). Ability to create engineering drawings, sketches, and perform complex electrical computations. Strong application of electrical theory principles to engineering projects. Proficiency with engineering computer applications and design software.
Soft Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to chair meetings, drive alignment among engineering groups, and provide constructive feedback.
Desired / Nice
-to-Have Skills Knowledge of Functional Safety of Control Systems. Experience with Product Certification / Homologation. Proficiency with data manipulation and presentation tools (MS Excel, PowerBI, PowerAutomate).
