Caterpillar Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the development of next-generation DC fast charging systems for battery electric machines. This role focuses on high-voltage, high-power power conversion products, including 1500V and 500kW charging platforms currently being developed for production deployment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in power electronics design, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of DC fast charging systems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and support DC fast charger systems for battery electric equipment Perform hands-on prototyping, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of power electronics hardware Develop detailed validation and test plans for charger systems Coordinate with validation engineers and lab teams during testing activities Analyze system performance and resolve technical issues related to converters, inverters, and control systems Support production readiness and engineering improvements for charging products Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and safety requirements Required Skills Strong experience with high-voltage and high-power electrical systems Hands-on experience with converter/inverter prototyping, test benches, and debugging Deep understanding of: DC-DC converters AC-DC inverters Magnetics Power electronics control algorithms Experience with UL, IEC, and ISO standards for power electronics systems Knowledge of EMI/EMC testing is a plus Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of experiencePreferred Background Experience working on EV charging systems, industrial electrification, or power conversion products Strong troubleshooting and lab testing experience Ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment Apply now to be part of cutting-edge electrification and fast-charging innovation supporting the future of battery electric machines.
