Job Description

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (minimum)
  • Open to a 2-year degree with 10+ years of experience
  • BS degree + 8 years experience OR MS degree + 4 years experience
  • Internships count toward experience
Required Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with converter/inverter prototyping, test benches, and debugging
  • Experience with standards and compliance (UL, IEC, ISO) for power electronics
  • Strong understanding of DC-DC converters, AC-DC inverters, magnetics, and control algorithms
  • Proficiency with lab instruments and data acquisition tools
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, attention to detail, and adaptability
Job Description Summary:
  • Design, develop, test, or supervise electrical equipment/components/systems
  • Make engineering drawings and read/interpret blueprints
  • Supervise design, development, and testing of machinery controls, wiring, and lighting
  • Review cost effectiveness, reliability, and safety of designs
  • Estimate project time and cost with clients
  • Supervise simulation/testing and monitor product quality
  • Direct manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, documentation, and testing to ensure compliance
  • Inspect completed installations for safety and standards compliance
  • Work with control team on charger field issue resolution
  • Review charger fleet telematics data
  • Draft test plans for new features and charger validation
  • Make design changes and oversee drawing releases
Work Environment:
  • Office and lab (25-75% office, rest lab)
  • PPE required
  • Occasional travel to Tucson Proving Ground or field
Disqualifiers:
  • No hands-on EV charging or power electronics experience
  • Poor communication skills
  • Limited problem-solving ability
  • Unwilling to work in a team
  • Inflexibility with changing priorities
