Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline Proven experience motor/electromechanical product engineering, including motor controls and VFDs PLC programming and troubleshooting is highly preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
Motor & VFD engineering: Define requirements and evaluate motors and VFDs for new and existing products.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Translate business needs into motor, controls, and instrumentation requirements with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product teams.
Supplier technical interface:
Lead supplier design reviews, validation plans, and issue resolution through launch.
Industrial communications:
Configure and troubleshoot Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, CAN/CANopen, and related interfaces.
Instrumentation engineering:
Specify sensors, transmitters, and control valves; interpret P&IDs and I/O lists.
Telemetry/Wireless:
Support remote monitoring connectivity (Wi-Fi, cellular, LoRa/LPWAN) and basic network and security needs.
Controls systems integration:
Support inverter/motor matching, control loop tuning, and
PLC/HMI/SCADA
integration.
Test engineering:
Identify and define test lab capabilities and equipment required related to motor evaluation and testing. Validation & reliability: Plan and support performance and durability tests, document results, and support failure analysis and
FMEA/DFMEA.
Manufacturing and launch support: Support manufacturability, pilot builds, testing, and product release.
Field and customer support:
Troubleshoot motor, VFD, controls, and connectivity issues for internal teams and customers.
Compliance and certifications:
Support
UL/CSA/CE
compliance activities and coordination with test agencies. About the
