Project Engineer (Hardware / Electrical)Location:
Woodridge, IL (Hybrid - 5/9 schedule) Job Description This role involves managing multiple projects focused on sustaining engineering and new product development within a collaborative engineering environment. The position supports electronics development for equipment such as displays, clusters, sensors, and control modules. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management capabilities with hands-on technical experience in hardware and electrical systems. Responsibilities Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including gauges, clusters, displays, sensors, and controllers Spend ~75% of time on project management activities (tracking progress, timelines, and deliverables) Monitor project health and ensure milestones and deadlines are met Use charts and tracking tools (Gantt, dashboards, etc.) to manage progress Provide regular updates to stakeholders Work primarily within hardware development and electrical engineering domains Collaborate closely with software and mechanical engineering teams Spend ~25% of time on hands-on technical activities, primarily testing and validation Required Skills & Qualifications 7+ years of relevant experience Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Strong project management experience handling multiple concurrent projects Experience in hardware and electrical engineering environments Ability to track and manage projects using structured tools and reporting methods Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with supplier/vendor management Background in automotive electronics, telematics, or display clusters Experience in sustaining engineering and obsolescence strategies Knowledge of PCB design and firmware Familiarity with Altium DesignerSimilar remote jobs
