Job Description
Position Summary Primary responsibilities of this position include complex electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls design, design of complex machine control software, and project leadership of automated systems. This position will guide the work of designers and detailers to assure success of design concepts and complete integration of the designs. This position will also be responsible for maintaining performance to target hours, budget, and project schedule. Essential Job Functions Perform complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control design. Design complex machine control software for machine control, operator interface, and factory integration Participate in and perform design reviews, approvals, as well as runoffs for customers. Guide work of designers and detailers - mentor team members Provide project oversight and partner with the mechanical lead engineer and assembly supervisor to monitor overall project status. Maintain performance to target hours, budget, and project schedule. Provide assistance to maintain issues lists, schedules, meetings, and all customer documentation. Work with Purchasing and vendors to control costs. Provide assistance to proposals as required. Provide assistance to field service as required. Provide assistance to the assembly floor and participate in machine debug. Perform all functions of an electrical hardware and software designer. Education/Experience
BSEE, BSCE, BSEET, BSCET
with 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing/machine design environment is preferred but not required. Associates ET with 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing/machine design environment is the minimum requirement. Mandatory Qualification Requirements Must be computer literate with advanced knowledge of AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical and a working knowledge in Windows and Microsoft Office. Must have an advanced knowledge of PLC programming/software and a basic knowledge of computer languages/software, HMI software, Servo Systems, and Robotics. Schematic and Blueprint reading and interpretation. Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OHSA, EN, ANSI, and ISO standards along withISO 9000
quality systems. CSA, UL, and CE certification knowledge are a plus. Knowledge of industrial power systems, ARC Flash, and Hazardous Energy Control. Knowledge of control, reliable safe system designs and risk assessments. Must possess strong inter-personal, leadership, and organizational skills.
