Job Title:
Controls Engineer Job Description Join a pioneering automotive supplier that excels in electronics, clean mobility, lighting, interiors, and lifecycle change to drive innovation in the automotive industry. At this site, we specialize in manufacturing all tooling and weld equipment for North American plants. The Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing electrical control systems and integrating them across various sites. Responsibilities Design electrical control systems. Modify and program PLCs. Design and build control cabinets for unassembled machinery. Travel to other sites for integration and installation of control systems. Identify and suggest electrical motors and power supplies needed. Work within ethernet communications such as DeviceNet, Profinet, and Profibus. Integrate safety PLCs and safe I/O. Understand and adhere to OSHA requirements and safety standards. Essential Skills 5+ years of professional controls engineering experience. Proficiency in PLCs (RsLogix500 and RsLogix5000). Experience with control system design. Proficiency with ethernet networking (Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet), Structured Text, and Safety PLCs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with advanced control systems. Familiarity with Structured Text programming. Work Environment As the sole Controls Engineer, you will have significant ownership over processes. Travel to regional sites is about 25%, including locations in Fort Wayne, IN, Toledo, OH, Franklin, KY, Louisville, KY, and Chattanooga, TN. The work schedule is five days a week, eight hours a day, with occasional extended hours. All work is performed on-site in a clean and climate-controlled environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $48.08/hr.
