Controls Engineer

Controls Engineer - Automation & Capital Projects Join a global leader in magnet wire manufacturing and help build new automated production systems across multiple North American sites. This is a project-focused role (not daily support) where you'll design, program, and commission new equipment. What You'll Do Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Omron) Design electrical panels/schematics in AutoCAD Electrical Integrate new machinery and automation systems, including Ignition SCADA Support installation and commissioning at expansion sites (≈40% travel) Collaborate with engineering, skilled trades, and project managers What You Bring Associate degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering 5+ years Allen‑Bradley PLC experience 5+ years AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical Strong troubleshooting, controls design, and HMI experience Knowledge of industrial networking and machine communication Nice to Have Ignition/SCADA experience Medium-voltage equipment exposure Project management experience Siemens/Omron PLC familiarity Why This Role High-impact capital projects Variety of automation technologies Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.88/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
