Job Description

TITLE:
Project Engineer COMP:
$80,000 - $110,000 per year
LOCATION
Indianapolis, IN Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Project Engineer direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN.
Duties:
Design electrical control panels and associated systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities Develop and modify schematics using AutoCAD Electrical (SolidWorks Electrical experience acceptable) Access and review PLC programs to make minor edits and interpret existing code (no full-scale programming required) Support a mix of projects, including approximately 80% new builds and 20% retrofit/upgrade work Collaborate with architectural and engineering firms, municipalities, and utility providers on project execution Serve as a subcontractor partner on projects. Manage projects from concept through completion, including budgeting, document review, equipment testing, and commissioning Coordinate with customers, vendors, and contractors to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met Oversee project timelines ranging from 4 weeks to 6 months, depending on scope and complexity Required Skills (Must have): Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred); Associate's degree considered with relevant experience and technical expertise 5-7+ years of experience in a similar role within an OEM, systems integrator, or custom equipment environment Working knowledge of PLC programming, including the ability to review and interpret existing code Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software Demonstrated experience designing industrial control panels Familiarity with UL 508A standards; experience working with or supporting a UL 508A-certified panel shop (MTR involvement preferred) Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed Valid driver's license #ENG123
