Sterling Engineering/Staffing is currently looking for an Electrical Liaison Engineer for one of our clients in the Muncie, IN area. Hourly Rate:
$55/hr

Job Description:
The Electrical Liaison Engineer supports production at the Muncie Final Assembly plant by working closely with Manufacturing to resolve design-related issues. This role serves as the key connection between Design Engineering and the factory, ensuring electrical systems are manufacturable, efficient, and aligned with production capabilities. The position also focuses on improving quality, reducing costs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Partner with Manufacturing to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical design issues during production Implement corrective actions and drive root cause solutions Provide hands-on support, including rework of electrical components when needed Participate in design reviews and ensure designs meet manufacturability standards Communicate design improvements and production feedback to Engineering teams Align product designs with manufacturing capabilities and supplier inputs Support cost reduction, cycle time improvement, and increased production efficiency Promote standardization and simplification of designs and documentation Contribute to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Built-In Quality (BIQ) initiatives
Qualifications and Experience:
Associate Degree in a related field Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings Basic understanding of assembly processes and design principles Familiarity with electrical systems and components (locomotive experience is a plus) Experience with engineering and ERP tools (e.g., TeamCenter, NX, SAP, Infor LN) Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and ability to work independently Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
