Electrical Design Engineer Job Description This role focuses on the design and analysis of electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects, including power distribution, low-voltage systems, and lighting. The Electrical Design Engineer develops detailed design documents, supports construction activities, and collaborates closely with internal teams and clients. Responsibilities + Design power distribution systems, including development of riser diagrams and panel schedules. + Develop low voltage infrastructure designs for IT and security systems. + Design lighting systems, including fixture selection, lighting controls, and performing lighting calculations. + Design and coordinate low-voltage systems such as fire alarm, security, and control systems. + Calculate electrical loads, fault current, and voltage drop to ensure safe and efficient system performance. + Perform field surveys to gather existing conditions and verify installation requirements. + Provide construction phase support, including responding to contractor questions and reviewing field conditions. + Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing ( MEP ) design teams to ensure integrated project solutions. + Use design tools such as Revit to produce accurate and coordinated electrical design documents. + Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical guidance. + Contribute to capital expenditure projects across multiple states as part of an on-call engineering team. + Support high-profile client projects as one of a small team of dedicated electrical engineers. Essential Skills + 7+ years of electrical design experience in building or infrastructure projects. + Demonstrated experience with MEP design and coordination. + Proficiency in electrical design, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems. + Experience using Revit for electrical design and documentation. + Engineer-In-Training ( EIT ) or Engineer Intern (EI) certification. + Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. + Effective communication skills for working with clients and internal stakeholders. + St To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
