Job Description

Position Summary Provides advanced electrical, instrumentation, and control (I&C) engineering support to improve plant reliability, efficiency, safety, and environmental performance in a cost-effective manner. Oversees engineering activities supporting operations and maintenance to enhance system reliability, operability, and maintainability. Leads the planning, design, and execution of capital and major expense projects, including defining scope, developing solutions, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. Reviews and approves engineering designs, calculations, and deliverables from internal teams and external vendors to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and internal guidelines. Drives continuous improvement by recommending and implementing enhancements to engineering processes and procedures aligned with business objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent experience Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred Minimum of 8 years of progressive engineering experience in large-scale power generation facilities Experience in design, construction, operations, and maintenance of electrical and I&C systems Strong background in technical specifications, cost estimation, equipment evaluation, and troubleshooting complex engineering issues Core Competencies Adaptability

  • Professionalism Technical Skills Engineering analysis and problem solving Power plant design, operations, and construction knowledge Cost/benefit and economic analysis EPC contract review and management Knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards Technical drawing interpretation and modification Equipment and system performance evaluation Project planning and coordination Microsoft Office proficiency Soft Skills Strong verbal and written communication Organization and attention to detail Multi-tasking and time management Integrity and self-motivation Relationship management and teamwork Ability to influence cross-functional teams Focus on quality and continuous improvement Key Responsibilities Develop long-term plans for equipment evaluation, testing, and monitoring Review and validate engineering design modifications Lead design studies and feasibility analyses Prepare technical specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates Provide technical guidance to internal teams Analyze complex operational issues and recommend solutions Perform economic and feasibility evaluations Investigate equipment failures and identify corrective actions Serve as a technical advisor to operations and maintenance teams Support development of long-term capital plans Evaluate bids and support contractor selection Lead multidisciplinary project teams through design and execution phases Coordinate contractor activities and ensure compliance with project requirements Maintain compliance with industry regulatory and reliability standards Promote safety and environmental compliance across all activities Perform additional duties as required Physical Requirements Ability to access all areas of an industrial facility Climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding Adhere to safety protocols including PPE use Valid driver's license required Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Heavy Civil Project Manager Timonium, MD
