Job Description

Hunt, Guillot & Associates (HGA) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a direct-hire position supporting projects in Baton Rouge, LA. This role reports to the E&I Department Manager and serves as a lead technical resource on complex petrochemical projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading electrical design efforts, providing technical oversight, and ensuring engineered solutions meet industry standards, client requirements, and applicable codes. Instrument Engineer experience is a plus. Key responsibilities Analyze project scopes and determine required design activities needed to complete complex electrical engineering design packages Lead and direct designers and drafters in the development of construction drawing packages in accordance with industry and client standards Perform detailed electrical calculations, including power system studies and arc flash analysis Develop electrical specifications and technical requirements for vendor-supplied equipment Provide electrical input to control system, DCS, PLC, and Safety Instrumented Systems specifications Provide electrical input to P&ID drawings Interface with client Electrical Subject Matter Experts Perform thorough quality checks and reviews of electrical design packages Apply Professional Engineer (PE) stamp to issued-for-construction electrical drawings Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college Minimum of seven years of experience as an Electrical Engineer Experience working for a consulting engineering firm on industrial projects Demonstrated experience in the petrochemical industry serving as a Lead Electrical Engineer on multiple projects Experience with industrial electrical systems, including equipment specifications up to 13.8 kV Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, procedures, and design standards, including the National Electrical Code and other applicable codes Preferred qualifications Instrument Engineer experience Electrical systems design experience using Visual Lighting Design Software, ETAP Power Analysis, SKM, and/or EasyPower Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
