Electrical Designer Location:
Lockport, La Position Overview:
An Electrical Engineer researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs engineering work in designing and overseeing manufacture, construction, and installation of shipboard electrical systems including: power, lighting, interior communications, control systems, and electronics. Ensures designs meet regulatory standards related to electrical installations. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Designs and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products. Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses. Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements. Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Must follow all Company policies and procedures, including those relative to employee safety, environmental policy, and the principles of our quality system.
Qualifications:
1+ years OR Associate Degree in relevant field
Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university preferred. Must be familiar with CFR, USCG, NVIC, and IEEE rules that apply to various projects. Demonstrates good communication skills, including written and oral communication. Ability to use computer assisted engineering software and equipment in performing tasks.
