Controls Engineer

Summary:

Instrumentation and controls engineering role responsible for developing design documents, specifications, layouts, and procurement packages for control systems and process instrumentation. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university 2-5 years of experience in instrumentation and control systems engineering relevant to design and documentation tasks Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam Knowledge of standards applicable to instrumentation and controls Knowledge of PLC, HMI, and DCS equipment Preferred Skills Experience developing installation details, electric room layouts, cable schedules, control panel layouts, loop diagrams, and instrumentation plans Experience developing control narratives Experience specifying process instrumentation Experience sizing control valves using vendor software Experience developing specifications and data sheets for instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, and actuated valves Experience reviewing vendor submittals and bid packages Experience contributing instrumentation and controls input to P&IDs PLC or DCS programming experience Job Responsibilities Produce installation details, electric room layouts, cable schedules, control panel layouts, loop diagrams, and instrumentation plans Develop control narratives Specify process instrumentation Size control valves using appropriate vendor software Develop specifications and data sheets for instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, and actuated valves Review and check vendor submittals for instrumentation and controls input Review and check drawings and documents from other disciplines for instrumentation and controls input Evaluate vendor bid submittals Coordinate with other disciplines to support timely project completion Develop and assemble scopes, drawings, and specifications into procurement packages for equipment and materials Contribute to the development of P&IDs with respect to instrumentation and controls
