Job Description

The Staff Engineer will support the technical development and execution of energy infrastructure projects spanning conventional and renewable generation technologies. This role contributes across the project lifecycle, from early‑stage feasibility through construction readiness, working closely with internal teams and external partners. The position may be based in Houston or Boston and offers exposure to complex, high‑impact energy transition initiatives. Key Responsibilities Support technical development and execution of power generation and energy storage projects Responsible for development of CCGT, SCGT, reciprocating gas plants, Solar PV and associated energy storage components Evaluate site feasibility for generation assets and interconnection facilities Assess OEM technologies and recommend equipment selections Coordinate plant design and performance inputs with engineers, OEMs, and EPC partners Lead technical inputs for grid interconnection requests and related studies Define infrastructure needs including electrical, gas, water, telecom, and site access Assist with the development of site layouts and drawings required for permitting Provide technical support for permitting, project financing, and independent engineer reviews Support knowledge transfer from development through construction and execution Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) 5-10 years of experience in power plant, power generation, infrastructure, or energy project development Knowledge of transmission planning standards and interconnection processes, FERC Familiarity with power plant systems and applicable engineering codes and standards Experience producing and interpreting engineering drawings and diagrams Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally Proficiency with common engineering and project management tools PE license, PMP certification, or relevant technical software experience is a plus Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Energy Advisor
