Job Description

The Staff Engineer will support the technical development and execution of energy infrastructure projects spanning conventional and renewable generation technologies. This role contributes across the project lifecycle, from early‑stage feasibility through construction readiness, working closely with internal teams and external partners. The position may be based in Houston or Boston and offers exposure to complex, high‑impact energy transition initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport technical development and execution of power generation and energy storage projectsEvaluate site feasibility for generation assets and interconnection facilitiesAssess OEM technologies and recommend equipment selectionsCoordinate plant design and performance inputs with engineers, OEMs, and EPC partnersLead technical inputs for grid interconnection requests and related studiesDefine infrastructure needs including electrical, gas, water, telecom, and site accessAssist with the development of site layouts and drawings required for permittingProvide technical support for permitting, project financing, and independent engineer reviewsSupport knowledge transfer from development through construction and executionQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)5-10 years of experience in power generation, infrastructure, or energy project developmentKnowledge of transmission planning standards and interconnection processesFamiliarity with power plant systems and applicable engineering codes and standardsExperience producing and interpreting engineering drawings and diagramsStrong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionallyProficiency with common engineering and project management toolsPE license, PMP certification, or relevant technical software experience is a plus
