Job Description

Company Summary A leading IPP focused on low-carbon and renewable energy projects is looking to bring on a Senior and/or Engineer to support technical engineering and execution aspects of project development. This company has a strong ESG commitment and with a diverse and growing project pipeline across North America and Europe focused on PV, BESS, Wind, and Natural Gas projects. Additionally, they have just received an investment to help support the team's growth! This role can be based out of Boston, MA or Houston, TX.
Responsibilities Site Feasibility & Selection:
Evaluate technical viability of potential sites for power generation and interconnection facilities.
Technology Assessment:
Analyze and recommend suitable technologies and OEMs for various energy projects (e.g., CCGT, SCGT, solar PV, storage).
Plant Design & Modeling:
Collaborate with engineers and contractors to develop plant designs and performance models for permitting, interconnection, and financial modeling.
Interconnection & Infrastructure:
Lead technical aspects of interconnection requests and assess infrastructure needs like fuel, water, and access.
Site Layout & Permitting:
Develop site drawings and support permitting processes with technical documentation and compliance tracking.
Financial Modeling & Due Diligence:
Provide technical inputs for financial models and manage Independent Engineer (IE) reviews for project financing.
Construction & Handover:
Support construction execution and ensure smooth transition of project knowledge to asset management teams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related engineering fields. 5+ years in engineering roles related to power plant operations, design, and infrastructure interconnection. Familiar with FERC interconnection processes, transmission planning standards, and design codes like IBC, NEC, ASME, and NFPA. Skilled in creating facility design drawings (P&IDs, electrical, SCADA) and effective in technical communication. Experience working on power plant projects
