That's why we've set out on a mission to build the world's most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We're bringing that mission to life with HMND‑01 Alpha - our rapidly developed humanoid platform now running in real industrial pilots - and we're growing the team to take it even further. About the Role As the Lead Electrical Test Engineer on the Core Platform team in Boston, you will define and build the test and validation systems that ensure the reliability of Humanoid's advanced robotic platforms. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on electrical integration, PCBA validation, and subassembly test at both the prototype and early production stages. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building robust test infrastructure, diagnosing complex hardware issues, and bridging the gap between design engineering and real-world system performance.
What You'll Do Own Electrical Test Strategy & Infrastructure:
define and implement test strategies for PCBAs and electrical subassemblies, covering bring-up, validation, regression, and production test. Build scalable, automated test systems to support rapid development and iteration.
Lead PCBA Bring-Up & Debug:
drive board-level bring-up, validation, and failure analysis. Develop test procedures and fixtures to validate functionality, performance, and reliability of complex electrical designs.
Develop Automated Test Systems:
design and build test frameworks using Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools to automate validation, data collection, and analysis across boards and subsystems.
Integration & System-Level Testing:
work across electrical, firmware, and mechanical boundaries to validate integrated subsystems within robotic platforms. Debug issues spanning power, signal integrity, communication protocols, and embedded systems. Design for Test (DFT) &
Manufacturing Readiness:
partner with design engineers to ensure PCBAs and systems are testable at scale. Define test points, coverage, and methodologies for EVT/DVT/PVT and early production.
Failure Analysis & Reliability:
lead root cause investigations for electrical failures across boards and systems. Develop structured approaches to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues quickly.
Build Test Fixtures & Tooling:
design and deploy custom test fixtures, harnesses, and hardware setups to support validation and production testing.
Collaborate Across Teams:
work closely with electrical engineers, firmware developers, manufacturing, and systems teams to ensure smooth integration and high system reliability.
Mentor & Set Technical Direction:
provide technical leadership in test methodologies, best practices, and debugging approaches. Help elevate test capabilities across the team. What We're Looking For Strong experience in PCBA bring-up, validation, and debug of complex electrical systems Proven experience building automated test systems (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar) Deep understanding of electronics fundamentals, including power systems, signal integrity, and communication protocols Experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, etc.) Familiarity with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, USB, or similar Experience designing or supporting manufacturing test (ICT, functional test, boundary scan, etc.) Ability to lead failure analysis and root cause investigations across hardware systems Experience working with embedded systems (microcontrollers, firmware interaction, or FPGA-based systems) Strong systems mindset with the ability to debug across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries Nice to Have Experience with test fixture design and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems Familiarity with DFT methodologies and test coverage analysis Experience supporting
EVT/DVT/PVT
builds and production ramp Knowledge of Linux-based systems for test and integration Exposure to robotics or electromechanical systems Experience with Altium or other PCB design tools (for DFT collaboration) What We Offer Comprehensive health coverage for US‑based employees, including fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, with virtual care and employee assistance resources. Meaningful time off to rest and recharge: 23 days of PTO (accrued), separate sick leave, and paid company holidays. 401(k) retirement plan with employer match. Equity included-we believe builders should share in what they build. Free daily catered lunch, snacks, and drinks in‑office. Collaboration with top‑tier engineers, researchers, and product experts in AI and robotics. Freedom to influence the product and own key initiatives.
