Entry-Level Engineering Opportunity Distribution Engineer (Electrical) Launch Your Engineering Career in Power & Energy Are you a recent engineering graduate or early‑career professional eager to make a real‑world impact? Join our team as an Entry-Level Distribution Engineer and help design the electrical systems that power communities every day. This is a hands-on role where you'll learn from experienced engineers, build practical skills, and grow your career in the energy and utilities industry. In this role, you'll support the design and construction of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems ranging from 4kV to 138kV , while gaining exposure to a wide variety of utility projects—from system upgrades to inspections and maintenance programs. What You'll Do Design with
Impact:
Develop engineering design and construction work packages for overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
Learn Industry Standards:
Apply utility design standards and safety requirements while ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables. Field +
Office Experience:
Travel to job sites for inspections and collaborate with the design team in the office—perfect for engineers who enjoy variety in their workday.
Build Your Technical Skills:
Perform engineering calculations such as structural analysis, guying design, and voltage drop analysis.
Support Permitting & Approvals:
Assist in preparing permits and documentation for local authorities and agencies.
Construction Support:
Provide engineering support during construction and participate in post-construction reviews.
Solve Real Problems:
Help analyze power outages, identify root causes, and develop engineering-based solutions to improve system reliability. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any discipline welcome). Strong interest in power systems, utilities, or infrastructure design. Willingness to learn and work on overhead (OH), underground (UG), URD, Make Ready, and street lighting projects. Technical Skills (Preferred, Not Required) Familiarity with AutoCAD , SolidWorks , ArcGIS , or ArcMap . Exposure to GIS and WMS platforms such as GE Smallworld or Bentley Expert Designer . Experience with CAD tools, MicroStation , and/or GIS applications. Bonus Qualifications (Nice to Have) Internship or academic project experience related to power utilities, energy, or infrastructure. EIT certification or intent to obtain one. Exposure to distribution design tools such as BOUD or SOCKET . Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and utility design standards. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.81 - $29.81/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
