M-F Job#: 18950 A highly experienced Electrical Engineer is sought to support software and electronics engineering for advanced embedded and electrical systems in high-reliability aerospace and defense applications. This role combines real-time embedded software development with electrical hardware design, including power systems, circuit design, and system integration. The engineer will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to architect, implement, and test complex systems spanning embedded software, firmware, and electronic hardware for mission-critical prototypes. An active Top Secret clearance or higher is required for this position. Responsibilities Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to define system architectures and derive software and hardware requirements from high-level system designs. Design, simulate, and implement analog, digital, and power circuits, including schematic capture and PCB layout. Conduct system trade studies and performance benchmarking across hardware and software implementations. Debug, characterize, and qualify new circuits and embedded systems. Utilize laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators for validation and troubleshooting. Document designs, test procedures, results, and system performance metrics. Required Qualifications Extensive experience developing real-time embedded systems for hardware control applications. Experience integrating software with physical hardware systems. Strong background in analog, digital, and power circuit design. Experience across the full hardware lifecycle including design, schematic capture, layout, debugging, and testing. Experience with SPICE modeling and circuit simulation. Experience with Mentor Graphics, Xpedition, DxDesigner, or similar PCB design tools. Experience with power electronics and power conversion/control systems. Preferred Skills Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded applications. Experience with RTOS environments such as VxWorks, real-time Linux, or Xenomai. Experience with multi-threaded, interrupt-driven, and deterministic embedded systems. Additional Information This role requires onsite work 100% of the time due to the nature of the programs supported. Candidates must possess an active Top Secret clearance to be considered.
