Job Description
Electrical Engineer
Design, coordinate and test new electrical utility installations. Support existing generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure and provide future electrical assessments. Write specifications for electrical purchases and assist in the repair of electrical facilities when needed.
Minimum one (1) year experience in power plant, transmission and distribution electric system design and operation.
Successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
Good communications skills to effectively work with department employees as well as internal and external customers.
Must be able to assist when needed with restoration efforts in extreme weather conditions.
Familiarity with equipment rated to 69KV, including outdoor substations and medium voltage switchgear.
Knowledge of power generators operating on liquid and gaseous fuel including reciprocating and combustion turbine prime movers.
Knowledge of Protective relay"s, PLC and SCADA control systems required.
Proficient in NESC and NFPA codes and standards.
A valid driver"s license.
Job Requirements•Must have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
PE license preferred or have the ability to obtain a Maryland PE license within a designated time frame.
