Automation Engineering is responsible for providing technical support to the manufacturing and logistics buildings at the Frederick Manufacturing Center (FMC). This includes troubleshooting, modifications, and improvements to automation, data management/storage systems, and networks related to process, utility, and support equipment and systems.

Accountabilities:

• Advanced knowledge of electronic theory and its application.
• Applied knowledge of batch manufacturing per ISA S88 standards
• Advanced understanding of instrumentation and control loop programming.
• Experience with FactoryTalk Batch Software
• Experience with OSI PI historian including OPC Da, OPC UA
• Subject matter expert within two or more of the following: o PLC systems, particularly Rockwell Automation o Distributed control systems, particularly Emerson DeltaV o Control network o VFD and motor control systems o IT infrastructure
• Advanced understanding of programming concepts.
• Revise, Review and approve electrical control panel electrical drawings
• Ability to retrieve and analyze process data
• Train engineers in site control systems.
• Project manager for medium-to-large capital projects.
• Advanced understanding of data analytics.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and computer system validation principles.
• Subject matter expert in risk assessment and mitigation.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• BS/BA in Engineering or Life Sciences
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Practical working knowledge of PLC systems (Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk suite of software) or distributed control systems (Emerson DeltaV).

Desirable Skills/Experience:

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $97,372.00 to $146,058.00Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
