The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical systems for pontoon boats, including wiring harnesses, lighting, navigation, entertainment, and auxiliary systems. Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation. Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to integrate electrical systems into new boat models. Support production by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting issues, and improving installation processes. Test, inspect, and validate electrical systems to ensure compliance with ABYC (American Boat & Yacht Council) and USCG regulations. Research and recommend components, materials, and suppliers to improve performance, cost, and durability. Drive continuous improvement projects related to electrical design, safety, and manufacturing efficiency. Train production staff on proper installation methods, troubleshooting, and best practices. Stay current with marine electrical trends, technologies, and compliance requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role. Proficient in AutoCAD, MATLAB, or other design and simulation tools. Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools. Strong understanding of
ABYC E-11 MARINE
electrical systems, circuit design, and power distribution. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications required. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems. Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements and Environment:
Must be physically capable of safely lifting a minimum of 25 lbs. without assistance. Involves standing, squatting, bending, twisting and sitting for long periods as required. Involves prolonged use of computer keyboard and monitor.
