Job Description
Plant Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer Design systems that keep a mill running—and design a life on Lake Michigan. A day in your new life Morning light on Lake Michigan, a short commute through the Upper Peninsula, and a walk across a 24/7 paper mill where your decisions are felt in real time. You'll move from the control room to the production floor, huddle with Maintenance and Operations, and turn tough problems into steady performance. One hour you're commissioning an upgrade; the next, you're de-bottlenecking a line or planning a capital improvement that will lift reliability for years. What you'll own Designing, implementing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems across the mill Championing safety programs and best practices Providing electrical engineering leadership that improves uptime and product quality Leading capital projects from idea through execution and start-up Collaborating with cross-functional teams on process improvements and new technology Driving initiatives that boost efficiency, cut costs, and strengthen reliability Delivering hands-on technical support to Operations and Maintenance Supporting strategic efforts around safety, sustainability, and operational performance What you bring Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience Proven troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills Comfort in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Clear, collaborative communication style Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based tools A hands-on approach and a desire to make visible impact Experience in manufacturing, paper, pulp, converting, industrial automation, or heavy industry is highly valued.
