Production Manager Summary/Objective H.A. Automotive Systems INC. is looking for a Controls Engineer! The Controls Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our assembly line equipment. This includes maintaining, programming, and troubleshooting systems that utilize Fanuc robots, Siemens PLC Smart Line, and HMI interfaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial automation, controls systems, and continuous improvement practices in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming and Optimization:
Develop and modify programs for Fanuc robots, Siemens PLCs, and HMIs. Ensure efficient operation and cycle times for assembly line processes. Optimize existing controls systems to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on electromechanical, robotic and PLC-controlled equipment. Identify and resolve control system malfunctions and ensure prompt resolution of issues to minimize downtime. Develop preventive maintenance plans for controls-related hardware and software.
System Integration:
Integrate new equipment and technologies into the existing control systems. Collaborate with the production and maintenance teams during equipment installation and commissioning.
Documentation:
Maintain and update documentation, including electrical schematics, PLC logic, and HMI screens. Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to controls systems.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve automation processes and implement solutions. Support lean manufacturing initiatives and participate in process improvement projects.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all controls systems comply with safety standards and company policies. Support safety inspections, audits, and compliance checks related to controls systems.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in Controls Engineering within an Automotive Manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with Fanuc robots, Siemens PLCs (Smart Line), and HMI development. Strong knowledge of electrical schematics and control panel design. Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, robotic systems, and HMIs. Familiarity with safety standards and protocols (OSHA, NFPA 79).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Fanuc Robotics Programming or Siemens PLC Programming. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Strong project management and communication skills. Familiarity with Ford, Tesla, GM, or other Automotive Manufacturing processes The ability to speak/understand Mandarin Chinese is a plus, but not required!
