Job Description
Apply Electrical Design Lead Location Europe Job Type Permanent In this position, you will be responsible for steering the electrical engineering scope across demanding international marine and offshore projects, ensuring technical integrity, compliance with applicable standards, and efficient execution throughout the full project lifecycle. Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate all electrical engineering activities related to assigned EPC projects Monitor design progress and communicate technical status updates to the wider project organization Produce system specifications, technical descriptions, and electrical scope documentation Support internal departments with electrical expertise during engineering, construction, commissioning, and after-delivery phases Prepare budgetary evaluations, technical estimates, and cost breakdowns for electrical systems and installations Maintain engineering timelines and ensure deliverables are completed according to project schedules Assist sourcing and procurement teams by preparing technical purchase documentation and clarifying supplier requirements Participate in technical coordination meetings with clients, shipyards, subcontractors, and classification bodies Contribute engineering input during tendering and sales activities when specialized electrical knowledge is required Perform inspections, testing follow-up, and quality verification activities together with quality assurance personnel Ensure engineering work is carried out in accordance with internal procedures, marine regulations, and applicable international standards Identify opportunities to enhance engineering workflows, improve standardization, and optimize design practices Requirements Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering within shipbuilding, marine, offshore, or industrial EPC environments Strong understanding of electrical installation methods, production interfaces, and system integration Knowledge of classification society requirements, electrical safety standards, and international engineering codes Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical education is considered an advantage Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in marine or offshore projects Fluent written and spoken English skills Practical experience using AutoCAD and common office software tools Structured and detail-oriented approach to managing engineering tasks and documentation Ability to solve technical challenges efficiently while balancing quality, schedule, and cost considerations Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams Clear communicator capable of handling technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders Comfortable managing multiple priorities in deadline-driven project environments Motivated to contribute to operational improvements, technical development, and process efficiency Apply If this position interests you, and you would like to learn more or explore other available jobs that could also match your skill set, please apply today or email jskinner@navis-consulting.com
