Job Flexibility Hybrid Position:
The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work-based business needs. Overview The ePowertrain Software Requirements Engineer will be responsible for developing requirements for software development of electric powertrain control systems for commercial vehicle applications. This position requires a strong knowledge of transmission systems, power electronics, electric machine control, battery management systems, and vehicle control systems. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and software developers, to design, develop, and test control systems that meet performance, safety, and regulatory Job Responsibilities Develop requirements for software and hardware components for electric powertrain control systems. Develop control algorithms requirements for transmission controls, vehicle controls and electric machines. Develop diagnostics and torque security requirements for transmission controls, vehicle controls and electric machines. Work with the engineering team to develop software requirements for electric powertrain systems in vehicles Analyze software requirements to ensure they are accurate, complete, and consistent with the system design Develop test plans and perform testing to ensure that the control system meets performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Analyze test results and use the findings to optimize control system performance and requirements. Collaborate with suppliers and cascade system and software requirements that impact electric powertrain control systems. Support system-level integration and testing of electric powertrain control systems on test vehicles. Develop and maintain documentation, including requirements, specifications, design documents, test plans, and test reports. Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in electric powertrain control systems technology and apply them to improve system performance and efficiency. Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance and support to other team members. Required Qualifications Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in developing control software for electric powertrain systems. Experience with control algorithms development and implementation in software. Experience with modeling and simulation tools, such as Matlab/Simulink. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and interpret test data. Good communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards for electric powertrain control systems, such as ISO 26262, is a plus.
