Job Description

The electrical engineering intern works under the direction of an electrical engineer and /or designer and provides support to the engineering staff members as needed. Time will be spent on the production floor to gain firsthand knowledge on how automated packaging machines are assembled. The intern will also gain exposure and experience in the various electrical systems, computer assisted engineering software and equipment used to perform engineering tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Steward our mission (to enrich lives by providing differentiated packaging automation and services) and values (unwavering integrity, servant's heart, ownership spirit and continuous innovation and improvement).Assist in product or system design under the direct guidance of an engineer or designer.

Help determine feasibility of designing equipment or modifying existing equipment considering costs, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.

Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine possible design improvements.

Confer with research and other engineering personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop/modify designs as required.

Prepare product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.

Prepare and compile necessary calculations to support product designs.

Assist with machine or systems tests and compile and organize data.

Analyze test data and reports to help determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.

Perform engineering duties and subtasks in area of discipline of low complexity for a project or projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication (both written and verbal), and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Industrial Electrical and Control Systems
  • Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to effectively interface at all levels of personnel and management
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively both with and without supervision
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel, as well as AutoCAD ability
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore in an accredited Electrical Engineering program
