Senior Test Engineer -
Electrical/Hardware Location:
Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area, MN (On-Site Lab)
Compensation:
$110,000 - $130,000 / year +

Citizenship Required Position Summary:
An established aerospace and defense systems manufacturer is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to design and execute test architectures for high-performance motors and electromechanical assemblies. This role focuses on hands-on laboratory testing, data acquisition, and physical root-cause failure analysis within a cross-functional engineering environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Test Procedures:
Author and maintain Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs) for motor assemblies using internal and defense specifications.
Fixture Design:
Partner with Mechanical Engineering to design test tooling, fixtures, and Interface Test Adapters (ITAs).
Equipment Operation:
Configure and operate dynamometers, power analyzers, environmental chambers, and data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
Failure Analysis:
Lead root-cause failure analysis (RCFA) on components, troubleshoot lab stations, and implement corrective actions.
Design Collaboration:
Work with Design and Systems teams to optimize product testability (DFT) for high-rate volume manufacturing.
Mentorship:
Actively train and mentor laboratory technicians and junior test engineers.
Qualifications:
Education:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience testing complex electromechanical hardware or rotating machinery.
Systems Familiarity:
Experience using specialized hardware test benches, test consoles, and mass interconnect architectures.
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
