Job Title:
Manufacturing Process Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing for manufacturability, developing and validating manufacturing processes, and leading cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless product introduction and operational excellence. Responsibilities Review schematics, layouts, and design files with design teams, applying DFx principles to catch issues early. Develop, validate, and document manufacturing processes for SMT board assembly, selective soldering, wave soldering, and AOI/X-ray inspection. Conduct prototype and pilot builds, troubleshooting issues and optimizing processes before full production. Lead large implementation projects related to electrical equipment testing and validation. Create and maintain work instructions, panel designs, in-line test procedures, BOMs, and ECOs. Collaborate with Hardware, Test, Quality, and Materials teams to ensure smooth product introductions. Identify opportunities for yield and cost optimization to improve output, reduce costs, and enhance product reliability. Propose and lead projects to achieve safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity improvement goals. Consistently meet and exceed customer requirements and strive for continuous improvement. Demonstrate the ability to function effectively in a dynamic team environment and maintain a cooperative temperament. Essential Skills Proficiency in Altium, PCB design, analog and digital electronics, and test equipment. Experience with PCBA testing and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of IPC 610 standards and Six Sigma methodologies. Strong skills in electrical schematic work, design, hardware, and board assembly. Bachelor's degree (4-year preferred) in a relevant field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with
PCA/PCBA
manufacturing processes. Exposure to lean Six Sigma operations and manufacturing experience with electronics. Strong emphasis on design for manufacturing and design for testing principles. Ability to communicate effectively and fit well within the company culture. Work Environment This is a high-tech engineering environment where you will work with state-of-the-art technology and processes. The role requires effective communication and a strong emphasis on team collaboration. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
