Cincinnati, OH Lexington, KY Louisville, KY Saint Paul, MN Job Summary An established engineering consulting firm is in search of a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their electrical department. This role will involve the creation and development of electrical construction documents, Revit modeling, and coordination of projects related to industrial and utility sectors. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in electrical design for industrial and utility facilities, as well as strong technical aptitude, communication skills, and the ability to mentor others. They will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, architects, contractors, and clients to deliver top-notch design solutions. Main Responsibilities Produce electrical construction documents utilizing AutoCAD and Revit. Design various industrial lighting systems, including interior, exterior, emergency, exit, and lighting controls. Collect and coordinate electrical design data from clients, architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. Create layouts for electrical rooms containing transformers, switchboards, switchgear, motor control centers, and panelboards. Determine appropriate sizes for feeders, conduits, and cable tray systems. Complete 2D and 3D electrical modeling and coordinate designs with other teams. Conduct clash detection and participate in reviews for model coordination. Perform calculations for voltage drop and short-circuit scenarios. Develop schematics and wiring diagrams. Review shop drawings for equipment layout, conduit entries, and dimensions. Conduct on-site visits and collect information about existing facilities. Prepare reports on construction observations. Mentor and provide guidance to junior electrical designers. Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and estimating design hours. Requirements Mandatory Over 10 years of experience in electrical drafting and design within consulting engineering or construction environments. Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit. Experience with electrical equipment modeling and multidisciplinary coordination in Revit. Ability to create and manage 3D electrical models. Familiarity with architectural, civil, structural, and electrical construction documents. Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, IBC, IFC, Energy Code, and Life Safety Code. Understanding of electrical design basics including grounding, overcurrent protection, and electrical distribution systems. Knowledge of QA/QC processes and document control. Authorized to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship requirements. Preferred Associate degree or diploma in Drafting, Design, or related field. Experience with SKM Power Tools, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar power system modeling software. Perks Benefits package includes:
